We met up with Shermen Abraham’s in the South of Johannesburg because his VW MK1 Citi Xcite caught our eye on social media.
It may not be a fully fledged build and some may see it as just another MK1 Golf but you would be suprised to know that VW included a drivers side airbag on the Citi Xcite and every other Golf model they released after this.
This is why the Citi Xcite has a steering wheel that was seen on late model VW’s such as the Golf 4 but this is not the only reason we like this ride.
It’s always eye catching for me when someone modifies a car in what we refer to as stock plus, so the car still appears stock but with slight modifications. It’s almost as if the manufacturer could have added these extras in the factory.
Shermen’s wheel choice also compliments the stock plus look because its a standard VW long beach wheel. Don’t be pressured into the trend of over modifying your car, sometimes less is more.
